So how did Southstar come about?

It started with a desire to share the awesome mountain biking in New Zealand with others. These are trails that swoop and dive through majestic forests, volcanoes, and sparkling rivers inspiring wide grins on riders faces.

We started with a Central North Island Tour, all of the above plus great accommodation, a van to transport between locations and most of all fantastic guides.

Great companies are made of special people and at Southstar Adventures these people are the ones guiding you on your tour. When you ask people what they remember about their trip to any country in the world, they tell you about the experiences they had with other people. The local family that took them in for a home-cooked dinner, the taxi driver who drew a map to a secret surf spot, no matter how many waterfalls you see it's the people that make the special experiences. The guides we employ are special people, they're intelligent, friendly and full of energy while at the same time embodying the realxed character of New Zealand.

As part of taking people out on the trails, we wanted to build more trails and to make those trails as good as they could possibly be. Hours were spent discussing the finer points of track flow and what realy makes a rider get that feeling of swooping through the trees like a bird. From this Southstar Trails was born. Dedicated to building top quality trails on tight budgets.

Southstar Clothing design was a natural extension of Southstar's creative talents. With an ever expanding line of prints that try to embody the grit of riding.

The newest kid on the block is Southstar Shuttles, simply taking riders to the top of the Whaka forest in order to enjoy the ride down.
